At OOM, you take out healthcare insurance for going abroad, not a health insurance. The difference is that health insurance in the Netherlands actually refers to the Dutch national health insurance. This insurance is mandatory for all residents in the Netherlands and often only provides limited cover abroad. Our healthcare insurance means you can be properly insured for healthcare costs abroad. You decide which costs you do and do not want to be reimbursed for, and then choose the cover that suits you best.
